Independence

Every year the Colorado Department of Transportation clears Independence Pass of snow in order to open for Memorial Day weekend. While CDOT is plowing twelve foot snowbanks, the pass remains closed to vehicles but open to cyclists. Mom raced up the pass on Saturday morning while Dad and I hung at home before Shane's birthday party.

Dad really wanted to get up Independence Pass before it opened today so we all headed back on Sunday morning. Last year when Mom and Dad took me on my first Chariot ride up to 12,095 feet, Dad had the flu and Mom had to tow me all the way. This year, Dad was determined to redeem himself - and he accomplished his goal. And I'm that much heavier this year.

Check out how much snow the plows cut through.

On top of the pass!

Notice the flag on my Chariot. Mom brought me down FAST!

And on another note, I am really working on getting potty trained. I used my toilet a bunch of times today and only had a few accidents. Not bad. Mom is determined to have my completely off diapers by my second birthday.
